Prehistoric man was highly interested in looking his best, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise; it’s the fact that Neanderthals were dealing in Wholesale Accessories, that shocks and amazes researchers today. In more recent times, the quest for hot and trendy accessories continues, as the millions of members of the wholesale community look for the best way to make maximum profits from finding the right combination of style and price for their own customers.

That’s right, Neanderthals living in regions currently known as Italy, back about 44,000 years ago, were producing jewelry and other items that could be called fashion accessories, crafted from resources such as bones and feathers, to be traded with rivals and friends alike.

The news came as a surprise to some scientists who were convinced that early man didn’t have the mental capacity or the desire to appeal to more stylish side, but the proof is in a cache of about 660 bird bones that were unearthed, most of which bore the marks of cutting and restructuring, such as markings found on much less ancient artifacts that indicated human hands at work.

The intentional removal of bird feathers from skeletal remains was just one indication of jewelry and accessory construction; there are also signs that early man used these pieces to leverage for food and status amongst his peers.

Not much has changed, some 44,000 years later.

Lady Gaga, the pop sensation that has challenged and shattered the rules of what separates art from reality, is now showing the fashion world that she could always fall back on a modeling career if the singing stops being worth her while. The pop-shock queen amazed and awed the world of fashion when she made her appearance at Mugler’s fall-winter 2011-12 ready-to-wear show, in a high-impact catwalk session that left onlookers stunned at how the performer could adapt to the role so readily.

Decked out in a super-sheer pencil skirt and black top, Gaga took to the stage in a towering pair of platform shoes that would have left most experienced models teetering and wobbling for stability. Instead, her walk was flawless, and left judges and designers wondering if perhaps the era of tall and statuesque physiques, which have long been dominant on the runway, aren’t perhaps a thing of the past.

Doubtless as well is the notion that fashion accessories will benefit from the renewed interest Gaga has stirred up, as millions of women with less than model-ready stature will be championing the new wave of trends that spawn from the recent spectacle in Milan’s outrageously memorable show.

And all the way out in New Delhi, a company known as Reliance Brands, which is a part of Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries, said that it has finally entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with well-known global fashion label Steve Madden, in an effort to introduce the American brand in selected regions in India. As part of the newly formed agreement, the company said it will kick off the initiative by opening around 20 exclusive stores across the entire country, starting with two major outlets in Delhi and Mumbai, as early as this year.

Reliance Brands President and Chief Executive Officer Darshan Mehta explained to the media that Reliance Brands is planning to open 20 exclusive Steve Madden stores in the next three years.

An assortment of women’s fashion accessories and footwear under the brands ‘Steven’, ‘Steve Madden’, ‘Madden Girl’, and ‘Big Buddha’, will be sold in the Indian market, targeting women between 16-40 years of age. One of the main goals of launching the line is to supply consumers with fast-forward fashions, and cutting edge styles that will be available in different forms across the entire product line.

Although the firm doesn’t have plans to sell items designed for men at present, it would be wise to keep an eye on the company to see what the trends in Wholesale Accessories will be, as the continued expansion of fashion lines in regions like India continues.
